NUU MiniKey FAQ

1. What should I do if I get the wrong keyboard symbols when I type?

In order to type correct keyboard symbols using the “fn”+[symbols] key (e.g. type “fn”+”v” for “£”):

• Find the “Hardware Keyboard Layout” options in the keyboard settings of your iPhone.
• Make sure “U.S. International – PC” is selected. If you can’t find this option then please add an “English” keyboard and then select “U.S. International – PC” under “Hardware Keyboard Layout”.
• You can follow this path to locate the keyboard settings:
  iPhone 4 Main Menu > Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards

2. Does the NUU MiniKey work with any device other than iPhone 4?
The NUU MiniKey should work with any device that supports Bluetooth keyboards. However, some special buttons built into the NUU MiniKey were specifically made for iPhone and will only work with iOS. Also, the case has been tailor made to fit iPhone 4 perfectly, so it may not fit your particular device. It can however fit iPod touch 4th generation (with a bit of extra room), but not iPod touch 1st, 2nd and 3rd generations. It will not fit iPhone 3G or 3GS due to the new design of the iPhone 4.

3. How is the NUU MiniKey powered? Can it be used and charged at the same time?
The NUU MiniKey is powered by its own built-in rechargeable battery, which will need to be charged separately from your iPhone; and yes, it can be used whilst charging.

4. What is the battery life like for the NUU MiniKey? How long does it take for the it to fully charge?
The NUU MiniKey can last over 30 days in stand-by, and when used normally the battery can last from a few days to a week. The a full charge takes around 3 hours.

5. Can you use the NUU MiniKey if your iPhone 4 already has a protective case?
No, the NUU MiniKey was designed to fit the iPhone 4 perfectly so you must remove any other case before placing your iPhone 4 in the NUU MiniKey case. But, it can in itself double as a protective case and help alleviate any antenna problems associated with iPhone 4.

6. Are there any special keys for the NUU MiniKey?
The NUU MiniKey has a specifically designed external Toggle button that lets you switch quickly and easily between the iPhone’s onscreen keyboard and the NUU MiniKey keyboard. The Command key also lets you make command shortcuts effectively such as Copy & Paste, just like on a traditional keyboard.

7. Can I use the onscreen keyboard simultaneously with the NUU MiniKey?
The onscreen keyboard can be used when the NUU MiniKey is connected. The unique design has a toggle button that allows you to easily toggle the onscreen keyboard on or off, so you can use both keyboards if you like.

8. Is it possible to use Bluetooth handsfree headsets or any other Bluetooth devices at the same time as using the NUU MiniKey?
Yes, that won’t be a problem! You will be able to talk on you Bluetooth headset and use the NUU MiniKey at the same time. In fact, all devices that are active and paired with your iPhone can be used simultaneously. However, iOS only supports one Bluetooth keyboard at a time, so you will need to disconnect any other Bluetooth keyboards before pairing your iPhone with the NUU MiniKey, but anything else is fine!

9. If the NUU MiniKey is turned off and then on again, will it have to be paired with the iPhone again?
No, the NUU MiniKey will automatically connect to the last paired device. You won’t need to pair it with your iPhone again as long as it hasn’t been paired with a different device after your last use.

10. Not every symbol is included on the NUU MiniKey. How can you type the ones that aren’t features?
NUU have only included the most commonly used symbols on the NUU MiniKey keyboard to keep it from being too cluttered. You can still type symbols found on your iPhone’s onscreen keyboard, simply toggle the onscreen keyboard and find the symbol you want to type.

11. What are the NUU MiniKey’s weight & dimensions?
The NUU MiniKey weighs a tiny 90 grams, not including the weight of your iPhone. When the iPhone is inserted in the NUU MiniKey case, its combined dimensions are only 115mm x 60mm x 20mm.
